Turn-key Service for Vintage Web Hobbyists

Access the Information Super Highway with the ProtoWeb!

We are a team of volunteers working to provide a range of Network services for vintage computer users. The service currently hosts classic websites (many of which are gone) from the early days of the Internet and focuses on restoring them to full working to order. ProtoWeb also hosts several reconstructed FTP sites with large file archives of a bygone era. Content is being curated and added daily for everyone to enjoy.

Our service is in BETA, and is currently going through a very substantial development phase as we build the tools and documentation to support the service, while concurrently building up the planned extensive library of classic web sites and resources.

The PROTOWEB service is currently in BETA! Many features are still in progress, and you may see some sites and resources not working properly, but we're working hard to bring these resources online. If you would like to get updates, or participate in development including web site restoration, we'd be happy to hear from you! Feel free to join our Discussion groups!

Getting started is straightforward. All you need is a networked computer and a supported web browser. You will need to adjust your proxy settings to access the service. Many supported browsers have instructions how to setup in our quick start guide.
